Mimic by button? Or?

There was some discussion ages ago about making mimic work by command.

For instance, I'd like to have only certain screens or even certain buttons mimic on the server. Like when I want to look at pictures. It makes more sense to have the big screen switch and show them along with the client. BUT I want to be able to set that behaviour once, permanently. So that others who don't know about the mimic button can use it.

I haven't tried it so I don't know if it would work or even how much work it would be but...could event groups be created for the buttons in which you want to enable mimic?

for instance when you click movies from the main page, mimic would be enable first from the event group attached to that button, then it would change the page. When you press exit from the movies page it would disable mimic.

I don't know if something like that would work or not but it's just a thought. I'll try it out this afternoon.
