Commanding buttons?

I know how to create buttons with the enter state, and down state.
Is there a way to create a hit state, ie. you click the button it turns green and stays green. How is that done in with the ADD, OPEN, PLAY buttons?

also, how would I make a button on one side of a menu open a graphic somewhere else simultaneously on a rollover? Like on vs. 40ex4 when you rollover music a music note opens.

and. can you make buttons ie. ADD, PLAY, OPEN, not react until you press them? It seems kinda backwards to me to click OPEN before your search for media. I want to find it then click OPEN. make sense?

I have also asked for a on/off state (it is on the list).

The play/add/open buttons work because they are named playabbum/openalbum/addalbum -ie is hard coded.

The snap button is on/off also because of its name and is hard coded.

Hidded graphics work only on roll overs .ie roll off and it dissapears again.
The musical note is hidden by default (skin editor) and the music button has the note highlighted in the special - show/hide tab.

If you wanted to open an album how would you open an an album in the middle if the screen as the mouse would highlight the last album you rolled over. (on the edge).

The play add open buttons are just to tell you what is going to happen when you click on the album you want.

play- play the album NOW
add- ADD album to currently playing list
open - open album to view.

I also though what you though to begin with but i use a remote only htpc and think the way it is now is the way to go.

the reason I ask this is because I use a touchscreen and you dont have the luxary in my setup of hover or click. only click. Also i want to make other buttons stay highlighted in my filters section so you know what selection your on. (see image) as you scroll through a list of titles you then click add or play once you highlight your selection.
does this make since?

I see your problem - but are really lucky to have atouch screen - I only wish I could afford one.

I think steven will have to add this to his list (really long) of stuff to do.

BTW How do you get the screen to display artist/songname - Mine displays either artist OR song name.

I believe you can do it by naming it

It's automatic I would guess beacause that what is says for the display in the database. he imported MP3 via ID tags I think.

In 40exp4 this is the default filter result for music DB, I didnt have to do anything. you'll have to create a way to go directly to the filter results instead of using genre, year, artist buttons to go to the filter overlay.

I believe you can do it by naming it switch-something..

I tried that and it does work in 40exp4. However how do I toggle so if switch A is on B is off and visa versa. (like add, open, OR play)

I tried this but the button goes to an on state but will not go to an off state. I have to restart xlobby to set it to off again.

I am trying to trigger a on/off button from girder - to show me when the remote is in shift mode.
