Xlobby, PDA and HTPC

Ok, about to build my fist HTPC and thinking about control...

Questions-

Is there a guide on how to set up a PDA to control my HTPC with Xlobby(acting as a film + music jukebox)?

What other software would be required for the PDA to communicate with HTPC (Girder? or does Xlobby PDA control HTPC Xlobby direct by Wi-fi?)

Would somebody be kind enough to run thru the basics on setting this up if there is no guide, just to give me a flavour on how everything talks to each other?

I can atleast try give you some hints
my skin has ppc screens so I recomend trying with that skin,you get it at skins download.The skin is named media eX

1) install xlobby
2) locate xlobby2sd.exe in folder xlobby\client and copy that file and server.txt to your ppc
3) simply change the ipnumber in server.txt to your machine running xlobby
4)start xlobby and go to settings by pushing "F2" and start running xlobby in servermode
5)start xlobby2sd.exe on PPC
6)You're in controll

Questions...
Whats an "ipnumber"?

Does this mean no other software is needed to interact between Xlobby and the HTPC and PDA (e.g girder)?

Will i be able to view albumn covers and dvd covers and launch these direct from the PDA?

With regards to player control (Zoomplayer) - I asume zoomplayer would need to be on both machines (HTPC + PDA) - to control zoomplayer from the PDA would girder be needed. How would this be set up to allow full control on the PDA of play, pause etc?

IP Number is your server IP address when you do the step to turn on Xlobby as a server you will see the IP address right in that same box...something like 250.17.222.30

ipnumber can also be your machinename
and yes this means no other software needed..The best way to figure this out is actually just be crazy and just start using it and see what's happening.
With this you will be able to watch moviecovers and play that current video.My ppc skin also have zoomplayercontrols which means that you can adjust eg. brightness contrast on ppc while htpc playing the movie

i tried xlobby on my ppc Toshiba e800, its working but i get the same screen as the one in my xlobby server, not the simplified version defined in the skin area. as the e800 have a 640x480 screen it's nice but i would like to have my pc screen do the same as the ppc, mean if go in the music section have my pc go to it too. any ideas ?

just so i understand the principles of the software player if i create my own skin, how does zoomplayer work with the ppc.

i understand it will be loaded on the HTPC with xlobby, is zoomplayer also loaded on the ppc mimicing what happens on the HTPC?

this is where i become really annoying!!!

it work i tried the mimic button on htpc and was doing nothing, it have to be clicked on the ppc and then it work.

i switched to 320X240 and still do not get a correct ppc screen, i use ColbySkin is it a skin problem ?

i haven't tried zoomplayer yet, will do it very soon and will tell how it react.

ZoomPlayer and the PPC will not know anything about each other. ZoomPlayer is only loaded on the XLobby server and controled by XLobby via the PPC. The PPC XLobby client just passes commands to the XLobby server which does the actual launching and controlling of ZoomPlayer, Or any external software for that matter. Hope this helps.
