XL V3

Postby lar282 on Mon Jan 26, 2009 1:42 pm

Hi
Curious. Why is xlobby2sd.exe included in the XL v3 installation. Does it work to use the old client now with V3?

Also noticed a trigger called Close PPC.xml, so I am hoping the old client will work in the future. Wes, Steven can u tell us your plans?

increase your screen resolutin OR
open xlobby.xml and change values manually

<startServerAddress>192.168.0.54</startServerAddress>
<startInServerMode>False</startInServerMode>
<startInClientMode>False</startInClientMode>
<startWebServer>False</startWebServer>
<mimicMode>True</mimicMode>
<connectServerAddress>127.0.0.1</connectServerAddress>

Thanks, I can change the xml.

I've provided a screenshot just out of curiousity. My res is 1680 x 1050. So xnet should be under webserver?

yes should be below that one. Its a bug and has been reported since day one of V3. Mine is resolved but do not know about others.

U could take a copy of your skin and try to change resolution to other widescreen.
or try to reinstall .Net 3.5 SP1

The old xlobby2sd client has been phased out for now, it was never
fast enough for installers all of them just use a fat client. Using
the webserver is the best option as an alternative to the xlobby2sd
client.

In theory you could run multiple xlobbys at once if configured
correctly with one running as just a standalone webserver if you need
the independent client control.....but it has not been 100% tested yet.

Thats what I thought. So the files are just leftovers and should be removed

Wes saw it today on my server and it's on the list. It's resolution-agnostic here. Can't see it on any of my displays from 800 x 600 on up.
Just see a sliver of the upper tab, but can get it to open if I aim carefully with the mouse.
