Let me first say, I dont need advise on alternative solutions (zoomplayer), only advise on how to do it.

I have a category of videos, in a seperate database from my music. How do I launch these videos in the existing open winamp instance using winamp's video window. I have looked at xmovewindow plugin for this, but I can never get them to open in the same instance of winamp.
My problems are
A. if I click on the item in the category (default opens in windows with winamp because of file association) it opens a new winamp and plays.
B. the video window for winamp isnt open upon restart of xlobby and autostart of winamp. So I dont know how to use the xmovewindow plugin for a window that isnt there.
C. If I import the videos in a custom music template with added file support then they will play but they will be in my music db which I dont want.
How do you create 2 different music db with different file extensions that will both play in the same winamp?

On my photos page the category displays %display%. This is fine for the top level but as you open folders and drill down, I dont want them to display %display%. Is there a way to have only the top level show the display? And I also want the 1st level to have a resource of 30pt font where when I goto the second level the resource is 12pt font and the 3rd level (deepest) has no display.

Any help would be appriciated.

XMoveWindow is not related to a specific instance, it search for a window that has the classname you specified.

Once in a "driven" screen, the plugin will search for this kind of window. This window doesn't have to exist from the start. As soon as it appears, it will be managed.

Normally, in winamp, you have a "allow multile instance" check box, are you sure it is unchecked ?

What are the informations you provide in the ID and display of your container ?

If you test winamp outside xlobby, does it start on several instances (one for each file) or only one? (on my computer, it runs only one instance)



For Winamp modern skin, it seems that the window class name is
BaseWindow_RootWnd
for classic :

I dont get muti instances outside of xlobby. I think this is because how xlobby launches winamp. Maybe windows doesnt know its open or something.

I use winamp classic

When I used Spy++ the classname of the actual video was WinampVideoChildWindow
but the window was as you say Winamp Video

I think that if you try to put it on fullscreen, it will return in the container without frames.
Don't know if this feature is keep between two loads of the app.
