Got an idea, post it here

foobar2000 0.9

Postby C-moi on Mon Mar 20, 2006 6:31 pm

The plugin xlobby for foobar2000 0.9 is no longer avalaible. Now, foobar2000 display the equalizer in a separate window. Steven is it possible to have a new plugin ? Could we use the equalizer with xlobby and foobar2000 v 0.9 ?
Thanks Steven.

try this out for me, not sure how well it will behave since they completely redid their sdk....I had to write the whole thing from scratch again...not to mention do some whacky tricks to get it to work for me. Anyway it should work with any version of xlobby.

They still didnt open up the equalizer, but I dont know much about changing the settings of a DSP from a plugin.....so maybe its just me....if anyone knows how to change the eq from a plugin post it here.

So, Steven, with the new plugin does Foobar basically run as a process and not an instance of the application? When I minimize Xlobby I'm not seeing Foobar minimized to the taskbar.

The reason I ask is that I was trying out that Player Load Playlist event you had coded for me so that I could transfer Xlobby's entire internal playlist to Foobar and then burn a CD via command line controls with Foobar's burninate plugin.

I'm guessing the new plugin breaks this function (can command line parameters be sent to a process?), but I can't even view the Foobar window to test that the playlist was loaded.

Nevermind, Steven. The command line parameters changed somewhat, but I was able to achieve what I wanted.

Can a moderator please fix the link on the download page and the plugin page for foobar so newcomers can find the plugin.

Hi Steven,

Any chance of updating the new plugin to allow playlist lengths to be displayed in Xlobby? If would greatly boost the utility of the CD burning plugin (see thread here).

Thanks! :D

get the new foobar plugin and latest exe, once you do a "music>player load playlist", "variable>totalplaylisttime" will have the total playlist time

Perhaps I spoke too soon. Forgive me for being dense, Steven, but you can spell out the exact usage of "variable>totalplaylisttime" ? Because even after a player load playlist event, using the latest plugin and exe, I get nothing when placing "variable>totalplaylisttime" in a text box.

Did you try "music>totalplaylisttime" or anything else?

Yes. I tried "music>" and "playlist>" and maybe one or two other variations. The odd thing is that "variable>totalplaylisttime" does produce a blank box, instead of inserting those characters, so Xlobby thinks its getting some kind of correct formulation.

I havent tested because I dont time right now, but please confirm you are using it as follows

first you do the command

"music>player load playlist"

THEN you should have access to the variable>totalplaylisttime

I'm heading out of town for a week or so, so I won't be able to follow up immediately, but to answer your question, yes, that's exactly how I was using it.

1. Queue up a playlist
2. F2 > Events > Music: Player Load Playlist > Test
3. Minimize Xlobby to confirm playlist loaded into Foobar. It had.
4. Back in Xlobby, go to playlist screen where I have previously added a text box containing "variable>totalplaylisttime"
5. Text box is empty.

Might it matter if my playlist screen is an overlay? I'll double-check that...

Nope. Just added "variable>totalplaylisttime" to a non-overlay screen and still nothing.
