png file image quality

Hi

I have been overlaying png image files over a blue background.

When I do this the text in the png file looks really poor.

If I place a white rectangle behind the png then the text looks fine.

What is going on here? Is it possible to get text in png files to look ok without backing them with white boxes?

Does your png have transparency? Is your png being scaled?

My .png is a small graphic consisting of a number of coloured squares and some words of text beneath the row of squares. It was originally a .gif file and I made it into .png file using paint shop pro.

Not sure about transparency. I am scaling it when placing it on my skin.

Scaling is the problem. Send me the png and I can tell you if its transparency. Or I am sure I can easily recreate it.
