That is exactly what i do. When i play movie its shown on touchscreen as small (xmovewindow) window together with player (zp or mpc) controls and on projector as whole screen. This is done automaticly by dualhead ATI display adapter im using in "theater mode" (seems to me ATI only commits to this behavior with regular dshow video renderer filter but not with VMR). When i play movie from external source like sony changer its digitazed for the touchscreen "scope" and also sent to projector. i control projector from xlobby, its only turned on when playing movie and turned off when movie ends.

Hi Dread,

You can also try this, hit F2 | Misc menu, then "Multi Monitor" to select which display you want XL to run at.

My best.

P3rv3rt B3ar, what are the benefits of routing the external sources through your PC as oppose to directly to the projector? Do you use the PC for upscaling?

Unfortunately my experience with nVidia display adapters dates way back... so i cant really say if this "theater state" is ATI specific feature. Mayby somebody can enlight as on this point...

Anyway, about other parts of setup. Many skins, like for example rikas dragon comes player control screen with XmoveWindow already embedded, if this is the case with your skin only thing ull have to do is download xmovewindow plugin, otherwise consult threads about xmovewindow on plugin forum for setup instructions.

Controlling projector is bit harder part, and depends on model youre using, most of the time though rs-232 control is your best bet. Your projector manufacturer might have control program, which u can somehow interface with xlobby, but most likely ull need to consult your manual, or search from net for specifics of communications protocol your projector uses, and script this for generic rs-232 plugin (mayby girder has one) or build your own software/plugin around the protocol, if u r really lucky, u might find that somebody already did it for your projector so do google. I did write own soft specific for my projector (actually manufacturer had good soft too, but i didnt need all that functionality and didnt know how to interface that easily with xlobby so, just simple command line app was enough), but i have plans to do more general rs-232 command soft for my upcoming X-Talk architecture, so it can reduce software writing tasks to simple scripting in future whenever somebody wants to interface their rs-232 speaking devices with XLobby.

I realise this reply might not be very helpful. But there is so many different factors in play, every setup is different case, so trying to provide somekind of useful answer is beyond my capabilities :)

Notice thought that i do both, direct to projector and trough comp, and change between them whichever is more advantageous for particular application. Im not yet doing much of picture processing (except some minor corrections with avisynth and dscaler filter), but i will be investigating possibilities in future (my setup is rather young and theres so many things on to do list :) ). In my case key factors for routing trough computer were not really picture quality enchanments, but these:

1. Possibility to mix video, without expensive video mixer! Currently im just doing transitions when source is changed. So for example while playing music videos or trailers even ones are played from changer and odd ones from HDD, so theres dissolve in video while there X-fade in music! simply the coolnes factor of this is enough, in my books, to forgive the quality loss, inherent from routing trough comp... in other more quality critical applications, like watching movie, i just stick with direct connection. So this is the reason i have self written program called VeeJay to preprogram everything for avisynth. First i planned to use dshow graoh to perform task of mixing, but however hard i tried i couldnt find reasonably priced suitable video mixing filters... so i turned to avisynth, and in retrospective ruoting everything trough it seems like really good idea. I plan to release VeeJay in distant future for other xlobby users with 777ES to abuse.

2. First i didnt plan to have video on touchscreen at all, but it came apparent that having it in part of screen has its advantages... (debugging system, casual viewing of music videos, or while waiting something to start, see if anything good is on, etc... so i dont have to necessarely launch projector for these purposes) so i added video window to touchscreen, but it would look stupid if only internal video sources would play on it, right? so inputting external sources was must.

3. I have quite a lot of DVDs, among them are few, which i have bought from journeys, which dont have any language i understand (and if we consider the fact that not all my visitors are 100% comfy with english and that i order lot of foreign DVDs online, amount of gibberish DVDs is soon way more than i have energy to sacrifice on ripping them to HDD), so adding subs externally of player becomes a necessity, and lets face it, what else could perform that task but HTPC, now only if somebody could automate sub fetching from net to xlobby, that would be so sweet!

That makes sense. I have all my sources connected directly to the projector, and I have to turn on the projector just to realize there is nothing on TV i want to watch :-)
I have extremly limited inputs on my PC as it is an all-in-one with touch screen.

I am controlling the projector via Xlobby and Girder 3.x and Rs232. I can help with codes if the projector in question is an Optoma.

You should be able to do this with the 6600 - just make sure you have the latest drivers. There was a new release earlier this month - 91.14 but if you have trouble with this release I can let you have a slightly earlier one that I do know works.
