Serial control codes for Hitachi TV

Postby Cabnetguy on Sun Mar 11, 2007 11:55 pm

Hi,

I am tring to find the serial control codes for my Hitachi 51F510 Projection TV.

I have 3 items that I need to control, and only 2 ports on my USBUIRT. I Have the I.R. emitters currently going to my TV and Pioneer amp. My cable box just gets the I.R. signals off the USBUIRT's emitter. This is not 100% reliable.

I would like to control the TV through it's rs232 port, then put the I.R. emitter on the cable box. So far I have been unsuccessful in locating codes to do this. I have tried Hitachi's website and didn't find anything, and there is no info. in the owners manual.

If anyone has any ideas, I would sure appreciate your input.

The USB-UIRT actually has 3 "zones". The front, plus 2 out of the rear jack. So one of the 3 would have to be blasting from the front.

I'm using the 2 wired zones for the TV and the Amp. The front emitter works about 90% of the time for the cable box.

I would like to take the wired emitter off of the TV and relocate it to the cable box. The only option left to me for the TV is the RS232 port

You might find the the front emitter works well for the TV or the amp, so you could flip them around.

I had issues with the front emitter and a sat box a few years ago, but it work great on all of my other gear.

Also, you could split the rear output, and use additional emitters. Just a simple stereo 1/8" wire split will do. I actually have a triple on mine feeding 6 emitters and it drives them fine.
