Help with Overlays

Hi,

I'm trying to design an overlay screen for the PPC. I'm having difficulty getting a rectangle to appear semi-transparent. I've tried copying over a rectangle from Steven's default ABC overlay, but it appears white and solid.

Any ideas on how to do this?

1. Go to the skin editor
2. Go to the Add Misc tab
3. Select any shape you want from the right
4. Select the new shape by clicking on it (while still in Edit mode)
5. Go to Display under the Button tab
6. Click on Customize
7. Select the Shape tab
8. Click on the Color button
9. Adjust the transparency of the shape by moving the Alpha slider to the left or right.
10. Click on OK.

Thanks (again!) Air,

I noticed all those controls, but figured I was barking up the wrong tree because looking at them when I had Steven's transparent rectangle selected didn't show the alpha settings as any different from the white one I'd created.

Hmmm....almost there! I made the new screen and called it ppcmusictools. I created a new event to show the overlay screen, and added a button to an existing page to call the overlay.

When I press the button the overlay opens OK, but when I close the overlay, the button remains in the pressed state. Any ideas what I might have done wrong or forgotten?

Also, can you suggest good alpha values for an overlay. I'm experimenting but it'd be good to know what's already been successful for others.

Everything else is working great!
