winamp popup on start

Postby art on Sat May 22, 2004 1:01 am

The answer is probably simple, but I just can't find it - when xlobby is loading winamp will pop up as well (after a second it will minimize). Is there a way to prevent winamp from showing up on top of the splash screen? I don't mind it loading on start up, but I just don't want to see it...

I couldn't find 'hide music player', I did try 'hide Audioplayer' - sorry I forgot to mention it before - it just kept winamp even longer on the top - actually it kept it till 'menu' screen loaded.

you're right...it is simple :)

in winamp preference make sure you select only "show in toolbar"
rightclick on winampicon on toolbar and unselect "main window"
exit winamp
start xlobby

now xlobby looks more "professional" :)

I noticed a problem with this - when using visualization:

If winamp doesn't display main window, and I start visualization, when I try to close visualization (milkdrop running fullscreen), it doesn't close but instead goes to windowed mode.

I'm talking about controlling everything via remote control that is.

Everything seems to work fine if main window is visible.

dalanik,
which key do you use to close milkdrop (Esc, enter?). I'm asking because for me Esc won't work and when I press Enter xlobby crashes... on the other hand I'm not sure if this is something in my skin that I'm creating or those settings, will have to test some more with other skins ....

There is a bug with closing the visualisation, and this exists even in the default skin. I lodged a bug in the bug forum, but it hasn't been addressed yet.

You could add your data and bump it, and maybe Steven will find time to fix it.

Here's hoping anyway

Good luck! :)

Well, Since I use remote to control XLobby, I just press a button that has start visualization event. When it starts, if I don't press any nav keys on remote (on xlobby window that is underneath the visualization, cursor stays over the visualization button), then i just press OK (ENTER) key again (start visualziation) and it closes.

If I by accident press left/right/up/dn keys, then this button looses focus, and I have to press ESC.
