newbie questions

I have a computer, a usb-uirt, and a receiver. I've loaded xlobby2pre14.zip and the latest exe.zip. I didn't see anything different in the xlobby2pre28.zip and the latest exe.zip that is posted on the announcements page. Right now, I can work on the closet computer from my bedroom computer via vnc. I want to make a control panel to power on/off the receiver and vol up/down. Right now, I'm only using winamp. I would like the conrol panel by itself, so I can add to it as I get to know what i'm doing. But, I don't know what I'm doing. So, can someone point me to a document, or give me a basic rundown on what I have to do? I'd be happy with getting my amp to turn on and off.
Also, if any of you have a usb-uirt, does it show up as being selectable in the IR settings in setup?

Sounds like you are running the latest exe now so that's a good thing. There has been a lot added that you might not notice right away.

The first thing you need to do is make sure your UIRT is working correctly. In the setup goto the IR page. Create a new device in there and try learning an IR code. Does this work? This is the first step to getting you headed in the right direction.

You ask if it's selectable in the IR settings in the setup. It should come right up. If you go to the plugins section of the setup is the plugin listed there? If it isn't then you need to make sure the .dll is in the plugins directory.

I'm not at a machine with Xlobby on it or I would give you better instructions. I'll try to step you through the process though....

Let me know where you are at now and we will see what we can do.
