Make Xlobby control Dscaler and my STB.

Help each other out

Make Xlobby control Dscaler and my STB.

Postby rhinoman on Sun Oct 10, 2004 4:11 pm

I use Dscaler and Theatretek almost exclusivly on my HTPC, the music is via a different machine. At the moment it is controlled using girder, usbuirt and my pronto. As I reported in a different thread I am having issues with this setup and besides which I would like to hide the desktop behind the Xlobby front end.

I'd like to get rid of girder if I can. I understand that I can use the send message command to send messages from xlobby to dscaler calling the wParam and IParam commands that I already have from my girder file, and I guess that once these commands are in place I can teach it the ir from my pronto.

I've copied the layout that Steven used for setting up the Theatretek send message section with

Class Name -
Window Name - Overlay
Message - WM_Command
wParam - as required
IParam - as required

but when I try to test the commands before I add IR they dont get a response. I'm obviously missing something but what?

Any help would be appreciated, this is doing my head in.

Cheers

rhinoman,

Sorry no one has helped you out. It's unusualy around here. The first thing I want to check is that you are not using TT2.0. They changed the sendmessage commands in 2.0 I think so the controls Steven had built in don't work with that version.

The Event manager can be quirky with the setup so I just want to make sure that the commands are in there the way you want them. Basically after you add something you have to click on the event in the left window and enter the data once the command is selected. Just make sure the commands are set up the way you think they should be.

Other than that I'm not sure what the problem might be. If the commands do match what you have in girder things should be fine. I use XL to control TT and Sage without any problems.

Hopefully we can track down your problem.

Hi Hiller,

No not TT 2.0, this thread was originally started before it came out.

I was referencing girder purely to get the wparam and lparam commands or dscaler (all someone elses work) that I knew worker via girder but was hoping to do away with girder altogether.
