Large Recorded TV Files

Postby homepc on Wed Apr 18, 2007 3:21 pm

I notice that when I record TV shows using the xltv plugin with K!TV, the recorded show files are huge. 1GB per 1 minute of show. Is there any way I can reduce the file size? Or is this just the way it has to be.

Thanks

I haven't openly used K!TV, but it sounds as though it is a setup issue with that program. Sounds like you are using a lossless codec. What are the file types that your recording? See if you can go into the setup of K!TV and change the compression ratio or codec.

Hope that helps.

Marbles_00,

By messing with the compression codes, I now have it down from 1gb per minute to 6mb! Thanks for the advise!!

Thanks
