Some good vfd programs are LCDC, jaLCD, CrystalControl, LCD Smartie 5.3 and using girder with the LCD Master plugin. Xlobby does not have built in functionality to control LCDs/VFDs.
I have the Imon parallel vfd and use jaLCD to display a welcome screen, temps, #of emails in inbox, and winamp info. If you go via girder you should be able to also get dvd info, which is what I will try next.
Guys - for either one of these, others, or simply in a SKIN.... is there syntax to display the currently playing VIDEO filename, video playslist... I know how to do this with Audio - but not sure of the syntax for Video files?
Are you trying to display in Xlobby or on a vfd? If on a vfd, then you'll need to find a program for you vfd that supports the applications that you are using. Right now I use jaLCD and it will display info from winamp, but I can't get ZP support working. I heard girder has some good options to do this but haven't tried yet.
What I really want to do is very simple. In a segment of my skin, I want to display the actively playing video filename.... not audio, but video. Essentially the video file active in the video playlist.
If I was using a front display, this is the same param I would pipe to it. I just don't see how to do this and know it must be simple. I can display the last selected video file, but that is not for certain this is the one actually current in the playlist (which my playlist is usually always going to be 1 video file, perhaps 2).
Example - if u were playing a movie and had a front display, or skin. What would u send to it to indicate what is playing. Audio I am fine.
