Help with usb-uirt programming

Postby js668 on Sat May 13, 2006 10:56 pm

I am using an USB-UIRT to control my Sony DVP-CX995V DVD changer. I have got it working so that when I click on a movie in my database and play movie... It sends the proper IR codes to my Sony and selects the correct dvd slot that contains that movie, however, instead of creating over 200 separate events I would like to use the controlNumber command for each movie to select the proper disk slot. I have no idea how and where to use this command. Right now each event requires 9 commands and I don't really want to have to create over 300 separate events ( one for each movie ). Is there a way to use the above command to lessen my efforts ?. Thansk for your help

i don't have time to check it out right now, but if each movie in your database had some number associated with it that corresponded to the right slot in the changer, you could do a variable set command or something like that..

Help with usb-uirt programming

I tried using the %movies%>%ControlNumber% command but it did not work. I put it as a variable where the IR send number was. I replaced the actual slot # with the above variable in the movies XML document. In my movies database that I imported from DVD Profiler it does have the control number's listed. Otherwise I'm not sure what the exact steps would be to program in that manner. And where to exactly put that variable.

Thanks

Try this solution that steven has for the 995...I think it should work.
