Help me chat?

Postby Colby on Mon Oct 04, 2004 2:41 pm

I cant get my chat to work on XL. Its not an xlobby thing its a java thing. I know because I cant play java games either. I went to sun/java web and downloaded the latestest, not that it did anything. I am running winXP SP2.

I would like to be able to chat to with other xlobbists.

Mine hasn't worked since sp2 either, I guessed it was broken since the new server.

If its a SP2 issue, it will be the firewall.

If you are behind a router you might need to forward the port as well.

The firewall is off on my machine because I'm behind a router. Its not the router because it used to work fine.....

The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded

Postby Colby on Mon Oct 11, 2004 6:20 pm

Ok Im chatting again. The error was:

The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded from <C:\PROGRA~1\Java\J2RE14~1.2_0\bin\hotspot\jvm.dll>

I dont know why this worked but by deleting the entire Java directory in
c:\Documents And Settings\MyUserName\Application Data\Sun
It works again.

So I am up and chatting again. And feel free to ask me questions or meet me on chat for help. I know a thing'r two about a thing'r two. :)
