Configuration Questions for Xlobby+TheaterTek+USB-UIRT

Postby snsumner on Wed Oct 31, 2007 9:36 pm

Hello,

Before I go into my questions I'm running the following environment:

Xlobby2 Pre-Release 2.0.7291.1 (USB-UIRT Plugin 1.1)
TheaterTek 2.5 (w/ ffshow)
USB-UIRT (w/ WinXP v1.4 drivers)
Windows XP SP2
Logitech Harmony 720 Remote Control

I want to use my Logitech unversial remote to control my HTPC system. I've already gotten the basic navigation (up, down, left, right, enter, page up, page down) working within Xlobby and my Logitech remote. I'm using the default skin within Xlobby. I noticed that there is a predefined screen called "theatertek" which is a black and white with a bunch of buttons for navigating within TheaterTek. And I also see Event group called "theatertek" which contains a bunch of events that send messages to windows.

My current configuration does not use the internal media player that comes with Xlobby. I modified the event for the "Play" button within the movieviewer screen so it launches TheaterTek to play my DVD movies.

My hope is that when Xlobby launches TheaterTek I have some way to do basic navigation such as: next chapter, previous chapter, pause, play, stop, forward, rewind, etc. from my IR logitech remote. Right now I have to use my Bluetooth mouse/keyboard to control Theatertek. I know its possible to do this with Grider 4.0 but I would like to avoid purchasing another product if possible.

Has anyone gotten Xlobby to control TheaterTek via the USB-UIRT? If so can you share how you configured Xlobby to accomplish this?

Thanks,
Scott Sumner

just off the top of my head, if you could get xLobby to fire the correct event when it received the commands from the remote, that would work, just like it does the navigation. I don't use a remote, so can't help you with the particulars, but since xLobby will react to the remote, it should (key word hehehe) just be a matter of tying the received code from the remote to the event (which would be the same events the TheaterTek screen does).
