this BHE version of xPert have resloved the trouble
of the 10057 error

...  great job :!: :!: ...

but
there is often a but,

there is another thing
it is from the fps of the animation

i have trouble to manage the frame rate per sec

i have modified in the zone text
and
i have modified in the skin editor

but even with very high number 50,500,5000,50000,500000..

i dont have significals changes in the animation

the trouble come maybe from me???

i try this with on a configuration with a 1.8 Ghz processeur whit 1 Go ram
with xp pro sp2

I really havent used it for ages...

Im wondering did Rika had it ever running at satisfactory speed?

Mayby u could give me whole variable sentence u r running it with, so i could take a look...

also i think putting higher fps values than 50 is not valuable even for test purposes... theres some 10ms waits in code so even in theory it cant handle framerates faster than that...

there is the sentence for the zonetext

plugin>xPerT>!instant!loadslideshow>testani2>[C:\png\[1...79].png]>runonce>1/30

and there is the sentence in the skin editor for the plugin variable

xPert
StartSlideshow
testani2>runonce>1/50

i have looked in windows task manager
cpu occupation 90 % during the animation
it s probably the origin...

i can make a more light version of the animation
reducing maybe the quality of displaying...

it will be possible to empty the cache at the end of the animation?

theres new possibility in BHE which allows u to put fractional values within !! marks... so u could experiment with those instead of earlier !instant!, !0! or !1! to see if it takes off processors load of a bit... so try mayby !1/30! there too... (just be careful while inputting those... u might have to do it directly to xml, i have been bit lazy on that point and skipped error handling :D )

ive been experimenting these on different context... XMB... and im really having probs to animate it fast enough too... I really dont know what is wrong... mayby i forget something, mayby i changed the code somehow... cause im really remembering it use to run fast enough in past... but mayby im mistaken... i hope Rika can shed some light on this.

Anyways ill be experimenting on it too...

Ok i was running slideshows now... and in my opinion they do run splendidly... much better than i hoped for... I was using rikas 30 frame animation running it 20 frames per second using !instant! descriptor, even with it i was experiencing quite good responsiveness. I got "Waiting!" messages from pervclient debugger... which means that animations were keeping in pace and i speculate that running them at 30 frames per second is very well within realm of possibility. my processor was giving steady 8% consumption. Slideshow was never meant to be run faster than that...

Problems i was having are tied to "..."-notation. Everything was back working when i opened whole folder instead of specific files.

Also newly supported fractional descriptors !1/x! are not working as they should but give very jerky performance.

Ill be looking into these things.

EDIT: surely u have ID of the slideshow set also as: testani2? and try to ditch "..." notation atleast temporarely and point to whole folder instead...

Ok tracked this problem down, and problem was that i was using slash character "/" within path... this was interpreted as division in xpert arithmetics... now on everybody should use backslash "\" instead within xpert variables to denote path structure. Theres though huge potential that this interpreting problem might cause samekind of problematic behavior in other contexts, in which case i might have to do a notational change for arithmetics.
