Help with saving playlists

Postby Jdahl on Sun Nov 21, 2004 8:52 pm

Hi, I have been working all weekend trying to set up my new media server using X-Lobby (which I love! :D ),

The one thing I cant seem to figure out is how to get my playlist to save. I have looked through some of the great skins available, but have made my own. This is the last hurdle (for now).

Can someone walk me through this?

Thanks!

The 'SAVEPLAYLIST' function saves the contents of your current playlist to \\xlobby\playlists\playlist<number>.m3u. You can not name it at save time, but you can then go in and rename it manually afterwards. It works in my skin (HeavyMetal) if you want to look at it to see how it is implemented.

Thanks Badabing - I like your skin and have looked through it, but for some reason cant get it to work. (the skin itself hangs on loading SCREENS) so I have dug through the XML's to find it, but I dont see where that function is.

Is it an EVENT that can be assigned to a button? If so, where is it?

Hmmm...I better check to see if I have the latest release.
I have 40.2 pre 14.

OK - I installed the latest .exe (see other thread on crashing) and was able in insert a new command under MUSIC called save playlist that worked when tested, and inserted a new event under PLAYLIST called save playlist, but that doesnt work when tested. Is there some way to link them together to get it to work?

Im confused.

BTW: Badabing - I got your skin up - its very cool.

You will find the 'save playlist' and 'load playlist' function in the PLAYLIST screen.

In order to function there needs to be an actual playlist to save on the screen.

In case you don't have a backup here is an Xlobby update from about two weeks ago (dated October 26, 2004) that works fine.
