Naming Playlists

Postby cwellsaz on Thu Dec 02, 2004 5:07 am

When I same a playlist it names playlist 1, 2,.... and so on. Is there a way to bring up a overlay when the save playlist button is pressed to let you name your lists. If not it would be sweet.

Bump!

It's been a while since this one was posted, but is it possible yet? Or is there a default naming scheme within Winamp that can be altered in its configuration/setup maybe? I'll have to check on that, but in the meantime, I'd like to be able to save the playlist depending on the zone the playlist was created in.

Example:
If a zone is setup in the masterbath and the wife wants to create a playlist ahead of time for that zone, so when she goes to have a bath in peace and wants to listen to some music, she only has to select the playlist labeled "Bathroom".

Or better yet, I set up a zone named 'Party' (using a Soundblaster card with KX drivers, there is a setting to drive all the outputs from one instance of Winamp) and wish to create a playlist that I can load up quickly for some party later that day. Then I can quickly load that playlist from the list and set the zone.

Bumpity bump. Wondering if any progress has been made on the ability to name a playlist from within Xlobby.

My Bluezskin has playlist renaming in it. It works fine.

Yes, new versions of XLobby do have rename for playlists. When you save playlists, they get names like Playlist1, 2 etc. then you can rename 'em...

yep, if you make an event to save a new playlist then have something like an overlay pop up right away, you can rename it and never even know that it was temporarily called playlist 1, 2 etc...

Ah, but you would have to be CERTAIN of the saved playlist name! If you already had playlist1 playlist2 , xlobby would save it as playlist3... so it'd take either a small script to check existing playlists and then rename the one with the highest number or something similar....

i dont think you would have to check anything....

i would assume that becuase it had just saved that playlist it would be the "active" one and that would get renamed???

I havent got round to wiring in rename yet, so i cant say for certain :)

I don't understand this:
I can rename playlist only if there isn't playing playlist.
And I rename only the last m3uplaylist if any playlist playing.
Bug?
