How to disable skin editor (pasue key)

Hi all,

I am start to use screen password for some movies screen, the problem, it too easy to find the password on the fat clients (for my sons).

Any way to disable the skin editor?

Thanks in advanced for any help or headup on this issue.

As far as I remember my dos days, the pause/break key cannot be disabled (or at least, no easily).
So you have only the possibility to either
- physically remove the key from the keyboard
- assume that if your son is able to discover the pause/break and change the password, he is probably old enough to access the content you intend to protect :wink:

I think you can use Girder 2.9 with a plugin "KeyBoard Ex" which can block specific keys :


This is the great new replacement for the keyboard plugin. It allows us to BLOCK(!) keys, and these keys are run-time configurable!!! (via the action plugin interface) (only for Win2K/XP, we need more testers, report in the forum please)


You could block the pause key...an other as F2 for example

Mayby he is talking about homevideos... u r never old enough to see ur parents doin it... :lol:

I still remember when my friend accidently copied "performance" video we did with my gf at the time... that was somewhat embarrasing :oops:

Well, I was hoping to find a call to disable skin editor within XL, and now I see only Steven could come up with that, I hope he do one day.
