*The Event - "custom search"?

Cant figure out what the "Custom Search" event does. Can somebody explain. I tried to add a button on my movie page with this:

category name:movies
Field:genre
Value:Family

but pressing the button does nothing! what's it for?

hmmm ... never tried it
it looks like a way to search within the database ... perhaps it needs a "set database" afterwards to show its effect ?? (As you can tell, I'm guessin )
I'm sure someone knows though.
