Client questions

Now that I can get the Xlobby to work, the only thing I get is the gui.
Few questions:

1-The buttons are not working the same as on the server skin (no enter, down chnages) Clicking on the client buttons goes immediately to the screen.

2-Music and videos are not playing. It looks like it should be but no sound coming out. File is loaded in Winamp when I look at Server but client silent.

3-Same as above with videos.

What might I be missing?

you could be using an older client, the latest one is here use the new xlobby2.exe also

I think your misunderstanding how the client works, its like a remote control for the server. The client will not playback music or videos, if you want to do that your better off making another installation of xlobby on your client machine....unless its a ppc.

Yes, defintely misunderstood. It is a PC I'm using. I thought it was something like say Sage Client. Where it connects to the server and I can access and play files off the server.

I guess that should be a feature request then.

why not just install xlobby on the other pc? why do you even want to use a client in that case.

One major hefty machine with lots of storage acting as the server. Clients then in various parts of the house each having the ability to access and play different files from the server.

If it had tv - dvr integration then the same as above. The server can have all the capture cards, but clients could schedule and watch recordings.

Don't get me wrong I already have the systems networked. I can play files upstairs that are on the downstairs system and visa versa. Would just like to control all that through a front end.
