Client PCs movie db doesn't update until XLOBBY restarted?

Postby jlr2000 on Sat Oct 22, 2005 1:44 am

Okay, hopefully someone has a suggestion on what may be happening here, I'm guessing it's more of a networking issue-

When I update the Movie DB on the XL server, the client machine doesn't "see" the movies until I exit and restart XL. I swear this was happening automatically before, I recently did some windows updates and maybe something changed from a networking perspective? Any ideas on why this doesn't happen. As a side I also have both machines running Beyond TV 3.5.3 on my network. One is my primary machine that records to a local drive. The other BTV machine has it's recording folder "pointing" to the first machines drive over the network. It appears that on the second machine I don't see new recordings in the interface unless I shutdown BTV and restart it. Strange, I swear this was auto updating before....in fact I know it was....

Thanks for and ideas or input.

Just to follow up and close this one.....I was using mapped drives, not fully qualified UNC names (\\servername\drivename\folder). Once I changed that everything was good. Hopefully if anyone searches on this one they will find this....
