Not sure what you mean by that but what I did was go to the F2>download area and selected XL exp to update/download. Still having the same issue.

As far as my F2>basic>WA path...it's set up. WA does in fact boot up when I start XL but XL just isn't able to control WA.

Thanks for the help!!!

I meant that your data paths should have the form \\machine_name\music_folder_name, not C:\music_folder_name

And your WA and Shoutcast paths need to be in that form too...
at least for fat client database import purposes. However, that won't affect the server not playing from the server itself.

I just re-read the thread. Are you zoning?

That seems to have done it for me. Installed latest xl and have opened and closed half a dozen times without wa losing focus.

Thanks.

Just starting getting this issue after upgrading to WA 5.24 this weekend on both my systems (standalones). Using latest Xlobby, XP SP2 fully patched. I can tell by watching the Xlobby startup process (splash screen) whether Xlobby will connect to WA. When WA starts while the splash screen shows "Starting Audio Players" WA works perfect. However it seems that roughly every other time I start Xlobby that it will pass through the "Starting Audio Players" splash message and make it all the way to "Images" before WA actually starts. When this happens WA is not "connected" to Xlobby.

It's almost as if Xlobby sends the start command to WA, waits a few seconds, then try's to get the filehandle of the WA process. If WA hasn't started yet (for whatever reason) XLobby moves on without creating the proper "connection" to WA.

My music/radio db's are fine, I do use UNC paths for the music import. I've double checked my WA preferences to make sure I don't have something enabled that is slowing down WA startup. WA is installed in the default location (c:\Program Files\Winamp).

mine started acting up again - apparently after I used Winamp itself to see what was on its own playlists.

What actually happened is that WA would sometimes start, then disappear after what I did above. Other times, it would never even try to start. I had to start WA 1st, then XL. XL would always kill WA when when exciting, as expected.

I THINK I'm back after telling WA to always be on top. XL will cover it anyway. I do need to give it a few more tries, but give it a shot.

I've put a post linking back to this thread in the Bugs forum for Steven to take a look at.
