CallerID 1.3.2 (Tapi,XaP, Yac) plugin for xlobby www

Xlobby plugin development

Postby smarty on Fri Sep 15, 2006 1:35 am

Lasse,
I just send you an e-mail with attached CallerID.log file.

Slightly off topic, I have seen your posts (and others) about wanting the ability to be able to edit a XML database from within Xlobby. Without this ability, I guess it would be difficult to show a call log that could be scrolled up and down and then delete individual calls (or all calls). I think this is something that would complete or enhance this plugin even more.....

BTW, it is ALREADY a great plugin!!!!

Good Work!!!

PhilB wrote:Clear enough. Via XL setup, I was able to get the picture and text file content working.

However, the overlay does not appear when an incoming call comes in. I tested the modem making a call outbound and that works.

I have restarted the skin.

I made sure that YAC was not running to be sure that was not causing a problem.

Anything else I should try?

So if I understand u correct:
* U want to use overlay instead of systra message box?
* If so did u enable it?

I need the log to see what's wrong, just paste the entire log in here after a fresh start of XL and wait 40 sek after that make a call to the XL machine, THEN take the log.

Yes I only want the overlay.

Here is the log from a single call afer restarting XL:

I do not see any phonecall info at all in the log. Either
1/ the modem is not callerid modem
2/ U choose the wrong modem in the setup.

Here is what the plugin gives as modem options. I only tried the first since they are all the same. Why does it list the same modem so many times? Is it a bug or a problem with the modem installation?

I have no idea why it would do that. I only show what tapi tells me that is registered.I would guess it is some sort of install problem with the modem.

I guess if u have 30 min with nothing to do, u could try em all out with a phone call inbetween and read the log after each try.

Can you post a normal log file just after startup and a single call so that I can know what I should be looking for in testing this.

I tried uninstalling, running regclean and reinstalling the modem but it still lists many instances of the same modem.

Thanks,

That is strange.....I picked the right modem (not PPoE) and tried a few of the duplicate instances. Anyway, that modem is coming out of the server this week when I get back home. I will try another one and let you know how that goes.

Thanks,
PB

Just look in the xcallerId.Xml that is located in the Xlobby directory. In that xml file it says what the plugin is using for modem

YAC CID....Date Order

Postby smarty on Sat Oct 28, 2006 10:10 pm

Lasse,
I have a question about how the CID log is ordered. I believe that the %display -1% command should order the CID log information so that the newest call is always at the top.

When using YAC to send CID information to your plugin, I have noticed that my CID log order is incorrect. For example:

On the computer that is running Xlobby (and your plugin), if I set my computer operating system date to "November 2, 2006" and send a YAC call VERSUS "November 12, 2006", the November 12th call is BELOW the November 2nd call.

I guess November 2nd, should be coded "November 02" rather than "November 2". However, I don't know how to vercome this......Do you have any ideas how to get the leading zero infront of the single digit day? Maybe this applies to single digit months as well????

I think its about the date format on your computer. try setting the date format to
yyyy-MM-dd
in the controlpanel - regional settings

Once again saved by an easy answer I did not see. This worked, thanks :)

Question: Have you given any more thought to the idea of being able to selectively delete call records (while retaining the picture and text address files)? Additionally, being able to "highlight" new calls would also be neat.

Love the plugin!!!

Glad it worked....
Honestly , no i haven't thought about and I "think" I forgot about it.....Can't u just delete the database when u exit the screen? that way the database will be empty until u enter it again or do I remember the question incorrect?

PS:glad u like the plugin. always nice to hear that people USE something that u created for your own needs:DS

I am finally getting back to this testing. I ditched the internal modem that was causing me pain and went to an external USB.

In my setup I have Xlobby running on the same machine as the modem and YAC Server. I would prefer that incoming CID cause the Xlobby server to use the overlay and not display any YAC dialouges.

I would like YAC Server to only send messages to the network Yac listeners the Yac server is set to send to.

It appears that the XCallerID does not quite work with all of YACs features. For example, on the server the YAC rectangular box always appears with the XcallerID overlay even if I tell YAC not to display it or kill the YAC service

On remote PCs, XCallerID forwards the YAC message but the remote PC only displays the YAC rectanglular box and not the Windows Balloon message that is my preference and how I have the listener configured.

Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,
PB
