Simpad help problems loading comapct .net framework

Postby molly on Sun Sep 12, 2004 7:56 pm

Just purchased a Simpad and want to use it as a PPC.

I downloaded the following:

[url]http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

and transferred the Xlobby2sd and server file to the simpad.

When I click on xlobby2sd the egg timer appears but nothing happens.

I've setup the ppc client on a lap top with no problems?

The simpad connects ok to my router as I receive an internet connections.

Any ideas?

I'm using an old version of xlobby not xnet.

What version of compact .net framework do you use? When I download the current version as above I receive the message "the application is not supported by this device type".

Any ideas.

System installed on Simpad Windows CE .NET 4.1 (build 908)

I think this is a different problem introduced post pre14

Postby PersonalNerd on Sun Sep 19, 2004 12:25 am

I've been using pre28 and later on (until the latest XNET builds) on a PPC2003 (Ipaq 2210) no problem, but my brand new Simpad seems to exhibit this behaviour on anything after pre14. I get the same hourglass (2 spins) and then nothing.

Can this thread be promoted as a bug (?) or should I repost. I would love to use Xlobby on my Simpad... because Xlobby is changing my life  .

ALL...

Install .net Compact framework (DL from Microsoft)

then install the latest version of XL

NOTE: in order for the PPC/WinCE version to install properly, you MUST have your SimPad connected via ActiveSync BEFORE you start the install. Otherwise it will not install at all...
* this is a bug that I do not think Steven has looked at yet. since there is an easy solution I do not expect him to address it anytime soon.
