trouble re-importing music

Postby Schroeder on Mon Sep 25, 2006 9:43 pm

Hi all, I'm new to xlobby and so far I love it. But I'm haveing an issue. I have already imported my music once and all was fine but i added some mp3's to the folder and reimported it but it hangs. I tried deleting the database and reimporting but it still hangs. It does a scan and detects the files, but there are over 7000 mp3's in this folder and it reports as finding 700, once it starts to do the import process it seems to hang on the first album.
Whats going on here? Did I screw something up? I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing.
Thanks
Schroeder

not very helpfull...

nut the chances are that uou have a couple of files with "improper tags", when it hangs you can normally see what file it was processing, try removing them and re adding them in mp3tag.

I tried creating a whole new folder with only a couple mp3's in it but it still did the same thing when i tried to import them.
But I will double check the tags.

Make sure there are no non-standard, non-ASCII characters in the tags.

Problem solved. Since I didn't have much time invested in the set-up/config i deleted the database then reinstalled the software. Once I reinstalled, the files imported fine. Thanks for your help.

Oh yeah, there where no non-standard characters in the tags.
