Getting into multi-zone :)

Postby Naylia on Wed Mar 01, 2006 10:27 pm

Hey guys,

Just discovered some speaker wire in my apartment that runs to my kitchen and the other end happens to be sitting about 5 feet beneath my HTPC & Denon reciever in a coil :) So I wired up a couple speakers and I think I'm going to add multi-zone support to my skin now.

First question:
Any reason why my two souces can't be an internal sound card and the onboard audio included with the motherboard?

2nd Question:
Can I send audio to only the 2nd zone? And do something else like game or watch tv in my primary zone?

Hopefully I can help some because I am planning on doing this once I can get a new amp.

1. Sure that is what I am doing. You just have 2 copies of winamp installed, each one pointing to a different sound card.

2. I am 99.9% sure you can do this, as that was one of the things multizone was made for.

Let me know if I can help any futher.

Thanks scott, just wanted to make sure my basics were solid before I went and snagged a second sound card...
