Organizing movies in Xlobby

I would like to create a couple of folders in my Xlobby movie db and call them 'music dvds' and 'kids dvds'. I do that and move all the appropriate dvd's in each and put a jpg in the folder to represent it.

All is good, this works great ... untill I refresh the db to add a movie, then the movies I moved in the db move back to the parent dir.

Is there a trick to make this work?

I did this for my music by creating two databases, one for kids stuff and
one for everything else. I then have two different music pages, one that
points to the main database and one for the kids music. Works great!

Great idea! I would still like to have one DB but this will do for now.

I have one database but I tagged them with genres. then on the movie page I have a button to show diff genres.Example Kids,action sci fie...Also I added the option to tag them in the skin so I don't have to do it in F2.

Works good for me.

I'm using the old default skin that comes with xlobby2pre14. I stored my dvd folders under a number of main folders (like "music videos", "war movies", etc). Each folder has a jpg in it. After doing a file scan, the database is created and the folders are all there at the top level view.
