Audio File Normalisation

Just a post to save anyone else from having to hunt arround :)

I now have normalised audio tracks working in winamp using REPLAYGAIN for my mp3/flac files.

Download foobar and use that to write the replaygain tags to your files (takes a fcuking age if you have a 120GB of music!) ...

Go back to winamp...

FLAC - The in_flac plugin supports replaygain tags directly, You just need to bring up the properties for the plugin and enable replaygain.

MP3 - You need to download in_!mpg123 plugin, this supports replaygain tags and may give better sound quality??

The home page for in_mpg123 is at http://otachan.com its in japanese but google does a good job of translating it. There is a long thread about the plugin here - http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/ind ... 530&st=175

Results are great, and i no longer jump out of my scan whena stupidly load track is played.
:D
