png sequence with Xpert

hey everybody,
i have read this thread

about the possibility that the plug in Xpert
can bring
some very interrresant freature like a animated png sequence

i have follow the instructions about the "how to" present in the quoted thread

but i cant animate the sequence

i have the following exception

"object referrence no set to an instance of the object"

i have try for the path for the filename.png
C:/png/test.png and C:\png\test.png
i have put a different name for the "name"
put a ID "name"for the zone text
and try with fps 12 and 24
but no results...

can you help me to solve this problem

Exactly how does your event to run the sequence look like?

i have created an event in the event manager with
plugin: xPert
command: Animate
variable: a>12 or a>24

Ok just before i go in to detalis, have you also read this ( 6:th post and down)???: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=4656&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=45

You should also know that the animation still takes cpu after stoped, as i remember...

i have apparently a least one problem...

my xPerT.dll is 52kb

the old version available on the french server
i cant get some newest ....the diffferents links are dead

there are no freatures for slideshow in this version ...

Did you try this version ? It is 116 Ko but it's a 1.0.0.0 version .... as the 52 kb !

Im sorry i havent had time to write a reply.... Ive been busy test driving my new (well not brand new, but new to me) carpc platform, im bit excited cause im starting to build my first dedicated carpc, earlier ive just used general purpose tablet as carputer, because i havent had adequate platform. Incase ill go with xlobby as carputer front end, ull be hearing more about project P3rvette in near future...

Im happy to see somebody willing to try put my work into use, and also happy to see that others have already helped u trough the problems. However if u hit on rocks again, dont hesitate to ask, and i try to be more responsive.

here it is the modus operandi that i have followed

create a zone text with

plugin>xPerT>!0!loadslideshow>animation>[C:\png1\[0001...0025].png]>runover>1/5

for the folder in c:\png1
and the files of the animation test0001...test0025.png

in the skin editor-text

i can see
Loading...

i have associated an ID to the zone text : "a"

and the event in the event manager:
plugin: xPert
command: Stratslideshow
variable: a>runover

but nothing happens

have i do something wrong?...

Im not home right now... touring with P3rvette... but i have booked ferry back to funland for friday... so ill promise to check question more thoroughly during the weekend. Meanwhile mayby Rika could help, i think he had it running. Also u can try with newest available version, just use those later experimental version links on xPerT thread, but replace IP with IP of the P3rvette pics. Should work if my server has managed to stay up.

Rename your png to 1.png 2.png and so on.
This is a animation that runs :
plugin>xPerT>!instant!loadslideshow>testani>[C:\Program Files\xlobby2prerelease1\skins\Vintage0.9\animations\music\[1...12].png]>runonce>1/30
The id in this animation should be "testani".

start with a event on a button like:
Plugin : xPerT
Command: StartSlideshow
Variables: testani>runeonce>1/40

and the possibility to have " a category flow" for item of a category

Im not so sure what exactly concepts like coverflow or catflow mean, but when i was making this slideshow functionality as per request of Rika, i was thinking to add possibility to also specifie used pics as cat, beyond current directory, CSL, and xpert magic. That would be more inline with other xpert functionality which is largely cat based. However i was being bit lazy (surprise, surprise) and concentrated only to minium subset of functionality to make it workable for Rika, and mayby some easy to implement enchancements. However if theres is a need to specifie a cat as source of slide show pics, i can add it to my to-do list... however i have no idea when ill be back with xpert code again.
