xap-xlobby to homeseer

Help each other out

Postby Jay on Sun Dec 04, 2005 1:32 pm

Hi CP.
Hmm. Not making myself clear. Sorry.

When I say servers, I'm referring to both the XL XNet and Webservers hanging up. HS2 continues to work fine as does XL on its machine.

Any remote machine loses connection to XL after any X-10 BSC or TriggerEvent is issued. Any device or event trigger does work - once. Then I either need to restart whichever server I'm using and frequently, I need to restart XL to restart the server/s.

The xAP messages are consistent.
the target for a BSC is (e.g.) mi4.homeseer.dad.*:office.lamp
the target for a TriggerEvent is always mi4.homeseer.dad.Master

I'm using the xAP3 plugin as the hub.

Same here. I'm still seeing the October release on the only link I have.

You did it! My servers are now fast and X-10 BSCs and Events fire with no problems.
Well done and thanks!

More info:

I add the update to a working install.
I go to plug in config, and set the master for Xap
Now I can control devices, and see status, events do not work
I shut down XLobby, and go to the actoins.xml folder, and change:

<adress>mi4.homeseer.media-box:Master</adress>

to:

<adress>mi4.homeseer.skibum2.Master</adress>

Then I restart XLobby, and now the plug in is gone....

Ideas?

I haven't had a chance to try the new plugin yet but I will do shortly and see if I get the same. ...

I have tried editing actions.xml to change the : to a . (as it should be) and the plugin still continues to work for me... I must admit I haven't extensively used the new version yet , and I'm not using the HomeSeer Command actions, but all seems OK. I wonder if it's something to do with the consistency of the newly supplied XML files and your previous ones ? Seems OK here.

When you say the plugin is gone - do you mean it is no longer listed in the Active Plugins ?

That is correct. As soon as I change the .xml file the plug-in becomes non existant. Gone from Plug-ins.

Your actions.xml is probably corrupted, this is why the plugin don't start.
Post this XML and we will see...

Thanks!
As soon as I get a chance (in a few hours) I'll re-add the new Xap3, and modify the xml, and then post. Is there a special program that I should be using to mod these .xml files? I'm using notepad.
