Ok, well its not ready to post yet... but I was hoping to get some input on what you guys think of it. Its pretty much a 99% rebuild of my old skin. Originally I wanted just to overhaul my old one, but I found I was running into way too many issues with it, and I thought I could use a fresh start.

I'm experimenting with a lot of different looks, but this is what I have at the moment. I have a feeling it won't look much anything like this when its done, but its a start..

I'm creating this skin to be very straight forward, especially the music section. The goal is to have anyone be able to walk up to it and use it right away and not be confused. All of the buttons are big to be touchscreen friendly, which is what I'm using it with.

Note the xlobby logo at the top of the first image, and the white text on the others.. which style do you feel is better? 1024x768 at the moment, but I will do a 16x9 version too.

Also, what do you think of the swirly background... too busy?


The main screen here is still mostly blank... will probably put weather etc here..

I prefer the white text style over the Xlobby logo style.
Are you still setting up the main menu as a db? I really enjoy you're style of skinning, it's definitely unique. Some of the stuff in your skin, no other duplicate.
Do you do your own art?

Yeah I'm doin 99% of the graphics in it. The 1% so far that I'm using from somewhere else is the headphones on the background.

I like the white embedded text. It blends itself in better with the background. The swirly is a nice effect, and I like the colors used...it's kinda edgy/psychedelic.

I'm not too fond of the buttons...almost too simple looking for this skin. The hard green in my eyes conflicts with the rest of the imaging and color scheme, causing them not to flow/blend with the background.

This could almost be a retro/psychedelic skin. It could use a different font...maybe an Alfred Drake, or Flubber, or Flow font to name a few. They can be found here:

Though, I know that the skin will be pretty awesome when you finally complete it, judging your previous skin.

Marbles_00: I see what you are talking about, I tried quite a few different types of buttons, but I wanted this skin to be easy to use for anyone. Some people need something to come right out and smack them in the face that its a button.

thanks for the complements... I got some new ideas that I'm going to add to this, and so far the skin is coming out real well too... (the navigation part not the graphics)
