Android app on ICS

Postby lar282 on Tue Jun 19, 2012 2:10 pm

I upgraded my tablet to ICS and now the music wont play through the tablet when using that as a zone anymore. It just sits at 0% and does nothing.

Anyone running ICS and tested zone on tablet/phone?

Found this in adroid log. Is this your download Steven?
Where do u save it? What path. Maybe the folder is missing or something?

I can't speak to your question, but I can say that the very latest bleeding edge update is not as stable as other bleeding edge updates in the past. I am hoping that a new, more stable release comes soon (bleeding edge or otherwise). Good luck :)

Curious...What unstable things have u seen on the server side. I haven't noticed any issues on bleeding edge updtates.
And like u said, my issue is not on the server side. Also it works on my phone which runs 3.x android

I the past I have seen:
1) Xlobby just freezes up (get the little windows error message box saying the program stoped responding)
2) "Free-Lobby" plug Xsend/Xrecieve become unresponsive/lock up, (I would have to re-start Xlobby to get the plugin to work again)
3) My whole system would just freeze (no mouse/keyboard control, no hot keys ...a hard reboot would be the only thing to clear it)
These have been very intermintent and un-reproducable. No of these has left anything of use in the Xlobby log file.

With the lastest bleeding edge, it appears that the Sun Java update was actually my "flaky player" (after I uninstalled and re-installed a newly updated version, all was better). I can't be sure, but I think Java and Flash could be the source of many of the issues I have seen (I have Xlobby open various web sites that contain these elements).

All in all, Xlobby IS stable.

For the past few weeks I have been going back and fixing internal bugs related to xlobby, stuff that has been written down for a while but I've never gotten too. The lastest bleeding edge I just uploaded is without a doubt the most bug free, and fastest xlobby yet. I've really tried to eliminate as many performance bottle necks as possible.

Relating to running websites in xlobby, you can always run the browser as an "external browser" there is a setting under F2 skins for this. I've seen similar things happen to poorly written activex controls, so an external browser option was added for this reason. So try that if you find the system getting bogged down with external web content,

Always looks for the "log-crashes-xlobby.txt" that file will contain crashes, and helps me narrow down any issues.

I haven't had time to look up the ICS bug yet.

Thanks for all the hard work. Will try the latest tonite...

Regarding ics. It might not be a bug, i just know it doesn't work on my ROM.
Do u know where u store the temp downloads?

I upgraded my emulator to ICS but it lacks a lot of feature a real device has, but I can say this....it was saving data in the correct folder, so I would assume the mp3 data is always being saved correctly on ICS. If you see it do the percentage download bar then it is saving the data.

The data is saved the same place as those temp files. I just dump everything into the main folder.

I was going to upgrade my phones rom but people are reporting issues with ICS so I can't do it yet, and I don't have a ICS device lying around to test.

Thanks for the reply. BUT
-"The data is saved the same place as those temp files. I just dump everything into the main folder."

WHAT folder is this. I just cannot find it and my device is even rooted.
Also a suggestion. Install to system but have userfiles and cached data on the SDcard. Otherwise the device gets pretty full pretty quickly. One can use an app to move your application to SD card but its better if u do it in the application.

Re: Android app on ICS

Postby lar282 on Wed Aug 01, 2012 9:14 am

Just upgraded my Samsung Tab 10.1 to the official ICS ROM and the bug is still there. So I guess streaming music to android doesn't work on
ICS on Galaxy 10.1
I haven't created a Mantis issue but if u want me to I will

Is there any plans in the future for u to upgrade and support ICS and JB?

Regards
