I'm not aware of too many sites that have individual MealMaster recipes for download, most are grouped in "cookbooks" of similar recipe types. As it looks like the converter is no longer available I've gone a different direction to get recipes into XLobby. I did some looking and found an application called Gourmet Recipe Manager that will import MealMaster recipes as well as MasterCook recipes and can export recipes in it's own XML format. From there I wrote a script that will convert all the individual XML recipes and write everything to one XLobby recipe database. It's not pretty but it works.

Please share your script. Thanks. :)

I created an example skin for recipes integration,
there are 3 part in this skin:
one use a local database and the others use spiders to get recipes from some web sites.
the skin is in french and recipes are also in french but you can use it as an example to build your own recipe integration .

here is it : Xlcuisine.v6b.exe

this exe, will install the skin (screens, databases, eventgroups, pictures etc…), fonts and spiders needed. you have only to execute it and select your xlobby folder...

one of those parts use spiders to get information on http://www.meilleurduchef.com it's a french web site but there is an english version too http://www.cuisine-french.com/cgi/mdc/l/en/index.html , so if you are really interested I can build spiders for the english version with an example skin...

later

I would be very interested in this as I am a very enthusiastic cook and have a touchscreen in the kitchen. Please let me know if I can do anything to help.

Thanks.

english spiders for meilleurduchef.com are there: http://www.france.xlobby.com/forum/dgem ... com.en.rar

so install Xlcuisine.v6b.exe
then extract cook - meilleurduchef.com.en.rar in your "spiders" directory

start xlobby with the example skin Xlcuisine, and you wil get english recipes for mduchef part....
of course, the skin and databases still in french...)

so what you can do is to transalate those databases: mduchefcategory.xml and meileurducheffull.xml ( you can do it via the set up of xlobby, section database>edit)
you can check on the menu of meilleurduchef.com to make the translation :
french menu : http://www.meilleurduchef.com/cgi/mdc/l ... index.html
english menu : http://www.cuisine-french.com/cgi/mdc/l ... index.html

also if you integrate it in an english skin, you can post it, of course ....

Re: Recipies, MealMaster

Ok, So about a year after this thread last ended I'll see if anyone can lend me a hand

I have a touchscreen setup in the kitchen and was wanting to set up a better recipe system using xlobby. I have used xlobby for a while but mostly for basic music and movie stuff and haven't fiddled the skinning menu much.

My first question is mostly for dgemily. I downloaded Xlcuisine.v6b.exe and after changing the spiders liked what I saw (even though I don't know French), but what do you or did you use to generate your recipe database for xlobby? I could add recipes by hand in the setup>databases but that seems a bit futile for more than a couple of recipes.

Second question is mostly for lar282 or anyone with a method for converting meal-master recipe files to an xlobby xml database. I downloaded http://www.xlobby.com/files/Shaggy/meal ... MM_xml.rar and it works fine for the meal master txt files that are included but it seems to be very particular about format and I cannot get it to work for other meal master recipe files (they will show up empty). I was wondering how you built this script and if there is a way I could do something similar but modified so it will work with my meal-master recipes.

Thanks for any help

there are 3 method in this skin example.
2 are onlines methodes, I'm using some spiders to do it . I use 2 websites : http://www.marmiton.org ( I need to update the spiders... so it doentt work right now) the second is http://www.meilleurduchef.com ( for this one, it's ok)
the thirth method is a big database that I built ( iun fact 2 databases, one for recipes, the other to filter the first one...

later,

ps: if you want I can keep an eye on how build your database, but I need some of your files, to see how they are....
