NAS Raid volume deleted

Postby vaporhat on Sat Apr 24, 2010 4:24 pm

Is there anyway to recover a deleted RAID 5 array that was part of a NAS?
The volume was deleted but the drives are healthy.

Try here:
http://www.diydatarecovery.nl/kb_raid5_article.htm

This is their buy online link: (about $90.00)
http://www.diydatarecovery.nl/kb_raid5_article.htm

May be worth $90 to get all your stuff back.

Of course, I'd bet some of the other members can suggest a free solution.

I hope this helps.

what is the mfg of the NAS?
like Dell can do it, but you have a time frame, and my favorite Net App, has a way
to find all the drives associated with the array.

then we can determine if there is a way to create the array without initializing it.

i'm sorry to say none of the guys are familiar with that unit.
but I recommend these steps.

Call the Manf first, ask them if they have a way to create the array without initializing it.
they might have a tool to do so, or it's a paid service they provide. since you have their product, you 'SHOULD' get a discounted price.

worst case scenario, if the manuf cannot do anything, then you could try an outside service.

sorry i couldn't help more.
