Word of the Day - URL as a Variable?

Postby smarty on Fri Jun 10, 2011 12:24 pm

I am working on a new "word of the day" (wotd) screen. The are a number of wotd rss feeds that can be used. I am using :http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/wotd.rss

**How I set up the xlobby wotd database - Not sure if this is right, but it seems to work........
Under alt F2, database, (second tab), add database "wotd" and also fill in rss url "http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoftheday/wotd.rss".

Then I set up my wotd xlobby screen with an object where I defined the category as "wotd", and the database as pointed to the wotd database that I just set up.

I also set up another object where the text field was "category>wotd>description" (no quotes) to display my word of the day.

Anyway, if the rss supplied definition is not enough, I would like to go to the URL link provided by the rss feed.

In the web browser object (where I can enter the URL address) I have tried :
category>wotd>link and %category>wotd>link%

On the screen there would look like; http://dictionary.reference.com/wordoft ... 06/10.html

Ideas???
