Video Streaming Live links

Postby wesblack on Tue May 13, 2008 5:39 am

I want to use this post to share live Camera, News, Video links that may be of intrest to everyone to use in xLobby. When we have enough data we can complete a simple user interface to navigate all the content. These links will work in the Video 6 Menu under More from the main xLobby menu. These files can be changed under F2, Events, Video Streams.

Here is a few I want to share:

LAX (Los Angeles Airport), http://mfile.akamai.com/25193/live/reflector:31098.asx

Can someone elplain to me how those .asx files are created and served as live feeds?

What hardware/software do i need to set-up my own feeds?

Los Angeles individual FWY cam streams - Are they gone?!?

Does anyone know where the individual feeds for the Los Angeles area "CALTRANS" Freeway cams went?
These used to be available on a per-camera basis, but when I go to the CALTRANS website, there are only links to "various cameras along selected route(s)" - each of which show 4 or 5 cameras for a few seconds each on a loop.

Thanks,
Samson.

One of these articles should give you all the explanation you will need if you're trying to set-up your own live feed.

That's not quite what I was after.. I am not trying to use a webcam. Also, my GV800 is also not recognized by WME.

This is the hardware I have on hand and I am beginning to believe I don't have what I need :(

I have 4 CCTV cameras
Geovision GV800 capture card
4 single channel IP video servers, video/audio w/I/O controls

and this is what I want http://sv08msmedia2.dot.ca.gov/D7cam3

What's the best approach?

Pick up another PCI capture card that is recognized by WME? Would I be able to launch multiple session or use multiple streams?
Go to a hardware based solution? Software based? http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmedi ... iaencoder/
