WebServer Cmd- How to Get Server Player Info to "Fat Client"

Postby smarty on Mon Apr 21, 2008 12:44 pm

This might be an easy question, but I am befuddled :(

I am using the new Webserver Command from my touchscreen to control the Xlobby audio and video (default) players on my server.

How do I get the audioplayer & mediaplayer variable information (see below) back to the fat client touchscreen so that I can display the players status (this particulariliy important for IP radio, since some of those stations appear to "hang").

Below is the type of information I would like to display on the touchscreen; but I don't know how to get it off the server machine. Ideas?

audioplayer>now>%trackname%
audioplayer>now>%albumname%
audioplayer>now>%artist%

Title: %mediaplayer>title%
Chapter: %mediaplayer>chapter%
Total Chapters: %mediaplayer>totalchapters%
Elapsed: %mediaplayer>elapsed% minutes
Total Time %mediaplayer>total% minutes
Audio Format: %mediaplayer>audioformat%

Sounds likw you've progressed. I just got back into this and simply trying to figure out how to choose an album or movie.
I'm sitting here with a 5-button screen like Wes described, but I can only control the first album in the collection.
How do you focus?

Smarty. Just got off the phone with Wes.
We can't do these things yet. They're coming. Right now, we can just fire events from fat clients.

Thanks for the update Jay :D .
I haven't looked into the CD/photos/movie items yet, I was first going after IP radio control.

The good news is that I can indeed control the server audio player via IP radio button presses, but there is no audioplayer "feedback".

I guess we will have to wait for focus "controllability" in the future.
