update crashes xlobby

Postby S Pittaway on Thu Dec 31, 2009 10:36 am

if i press any f the butons on the update tab, xlobby bombs out.

i am runing on xp sp3, windows firewall is off, avg anti virus, xlobby 4 dec build.

i used to get a bit more info when it crashed but at the moment it simply shows me the serious problem dialog.

i wil stick an enrty in mantis when i get a chance.

For both of you, when you hit check for updates it crashes? you don't even see it say "system is up to date" , and if that works when you hit install updates you should see it downloading the updates...you don't see that either?

did updates ever work?

do you have UAC enabled? try running xlobby with admin privileges

UAC is disabled and it is running under admin privileges. I will try on another machine and see if it replicates.

Happy New Year.

what happens if you do a new install or a keep and install to a completely new directory, fresh new install no content loaded, what happens if you hit the update button?

i treid removing my install, deleted the xlobby dir (just in case) and did a clean install using the 4 dec build and it was the same.

i can try the new release if its likely to be any differant, but it will probably be tommrow night before i get chance.
